Where do Bed bugs originate from?

Bedbugs are small, oval insects that feed by sucking blood from humans or animals. Bedbugs do not fly.
Bedbugs can live
any place in the house. They can live in cracks in furniture or in any type of textile, including upholstered furniture. They're most common in beds, such as the mattress, box springs, and bed frames.
How do you get bed bugs? It’s a myth that dirty conditions cause bed bugs. While dirty conditions make it harder to both identify bed bug infestations and also to eradicate bed bugs, the conditions aren't the cause. Your bed bug resurgence is related to a mix of the following:

• Bed bugs
increasingly resistant to modern chemical treatments.
• Higher
numbers of people traveling internationally.
I'd include to this list: a general lack of bed bug awareness. If bed bugs aren’t even on your radar like a potential threat, you’re not likely to do anything whatsoever for bedbug protection. There are 3 principle ways bed bugs may come to infest a dwelling.
1. Bed bugs already existed there but weren’t previously detected or, if detected,
were not eradicated completely.
Depending on how big a bedbug infestation is, an earlier owner or tenant may never have detected bed bugs. When the person never detected them and then moved out, you could be moving right into a horror story. Bed bugs can survive for over 12 months without feeding. Therefore if these were exterminated but the treatment wasn’t thoroughly sufficient (and lots of do-it-yourself remedies are not), bed bugs will come back.
2. Bed bugs
arrived through adjacent units inside a multi-unit dwelling (condos, apartments, dorms, hotels, hostels).
The present bed bug resurgence is particularly an issue in multi-unit dwellings. If you reside in a multi-unit dwelling, you could do everything right to protect yourself and still end up getting bed bugs. If you’re renting your house or an apartment, in many places the home management has a legal obligation to employ a professional bed bugs exterminator to handle infestations. Always report bed bugs to property managers.
3. Bed bugs hitched a ride
from the outside on people or objects brought in to the dwelling.
Traveling
could be a fantastic way to get unwanted blood-sucking guests. Bed bugs can certainly slip into your luggage or hitch a ride in your clothing and footwear. Bed bugs also travel in bed frames, mattresses, box springs, furniture, along with other items. Infested second-hand merchandise is a significant threat. Bed bugs have been known to hitch rides on television controllers. The closer to the bed an item is on a regular basis; the greater susceptible it's to being infested and therefore as being a suitable vehicle to spread bed bugs.
